Six years since its inception, the Social Security Fund (SSF) has successfully collected a total of Rs 95.44 billion from its contributors, according to a recent report by the Fund. These contributions came from over 2.64 million members across 22,309 registered enterprises nationwide.

During this period, the Fund has settled claims totaling Rs 17.64 billion. Of this amount, Rs 2.51 billion was paid for medical expenses, Rs 228.6 million for accidents and disabilities, and Rs 290.7 million under the dependent family security scheme. Additionally, the Fund disbursed more than Rs 14.6 billion for retirement claims.

The Fund’s effectiveness has been further strengthened as foreign migrant workers are now required to participate in the contribution-based social security system, ensuring wider coverage and sustainability of benefits. This milestone reflects the Fund’s growing role in providing financial security and social protection to workers across Nepal.
