Shesh Ghale's MIT Group Foundation provides Rs 30 million to fight against COVID-19
The MIT Group Foundation has provided Rs 30 million in cash for the relief fund established by the government of Nepal to combat coronavirus infection.
The philanthropic Foundation established by Non-Resident Nepalis Association’s former president Shesh Ghale and his spouse Jamuna donated the amount with an objective to supporting Neplais struggling to control coronavirus pandemic.
Representatives of the foundation on Sunday handed over the bank cheque to the Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister.
On the occasion, Foundation’s chair Shesh Ghale said, “The government of Nepal will spend the money for testing, contact tracing and response in order to prevent and control coronavirus.”
He also lauded the role played by the government of Nepal and Nepalis to prevent the coronavirus infection. In the past, the Foundation had provided support to Nepal during catastrophic Gorkha earthquake, blockade and flooding as well.
