Sayapatri Hydropower’s 2.5 MW Project Halts After Flood Damages Transmission Line

Sayapatri Hydropower Limited’s 2.5 MW Darma Khola A Hydropower Project in Baglung has halted electricity generation and transmission after flooding damaged its 33 kV transmission line.

The flood in the Daram Khola River on Ashoj 9 damaged poles and wires along the transmission line connecting the project’s switchyard to the Nepal Electricity Authority’s Harichaur Substation.

Following the damage, power generation and transmission have remained suspended since 11:00 PM on Ashoj 9.

The company said communication with employees at the project site has also been disrupted after electricity supply to communication towers in Tarakhola Rural Municipality was cut off. As a result, the company has not yet received details of any additional damage at the project site.

Sayapatri Hydropower said it will provide further details once communication with the project-site employees is restored. The company also stated that the damaged transmission line and other physical structures were covered by an active insurance policy at the time of the incident.
