KATHMANDU, June 10:

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has said that a total of Rs 2.33 billion Citizens Saving Bonds has been subscribed during the stipulated time.

The central monetary authority on May 26 had issued the bonds of Rs 2.5 billion calling for investors to flow money to the citizens saving bonds at the interest rate of 8 per cent till June 9. However, the citizens saving bonds of Rs 160 million were not sold, the NRB said.

Executive Director at the central bank Nar Bahadur Thapa said that the bonds were subscribed as per the capacity of investors. He said that public attraction might have been moderate due to slim chances of rise in worth of bonds. RSS
