Public Procurement Monitoring Office Requests Clarification from 25 Builders
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office, operating under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, has issued a notice asking 25 builders for a written explanation within seven days, stating why they should not be blacklisted. The office is taking this step following concerns raised by public bodies regarding the potential blacklisting of these construction businessmen.
The builders and suppliers in question have been given a 30-day window to submit their written explanations to the procurement office, providing evidence to justify why they should not face blacklisting. In the absence of receiving any written explanations within the specified timeframe, the office has now issued another notice, allowing an additional seven days for submission.
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office explained that the publication of this notice was necessary due to the builders' failure to respond to the initial notification sent to their respective addresses. This notice serves to inform the concerned builders and suppliers, in accordance with sub-rule (4A) of Rule 141 of the Public Procurement Regulations of 2064. They are required to submit their written explanations within seven days from the date of publication of this notice.
The office's representative stated, "This notice has been published for the information of the concerned builders and suppliers to submit a written explanation within 7 (seven) days from the date of publication of the notice," as he was quoted as saying.
