Prime Minister Balen Shah to Hold Talks with Major Export-Oriented Industries
Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) is scheduled to hold discussions today with representatives of Nepal’s major export-oriented industries and businesses.
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Participants will include Home Prasad Ghimire, President of the Nepal Plywood Producers’ Association; Balaram Gurung, President of the Nepal Carpet Producers and Exporters Association; Dhan Prasad Lamichhane, President of the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association; carpet and plywood exporter Devanand Sarawagi; and Resham Bahadur Pokharel, President of the Nepal Dog Chew Producers’ Association.
Prime Minister Shah is expected to discuss challenges facing export promotion, policy reforms, and possible measures to address the issues confronting export-oriented industries.
In recent weeks, Prime Minister Shah has been holding regular discussions with private-sector industrialists, business leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to promote the country’s economy. Representatives from the private sector have said that the government’s continued engagement has helped boost confidence and morale in the business community.
