Passengers with flight schedules after 2 pm called to TIA (update)

KATHMADHU, March 7:

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) which has been closed since three days following the crash-landing of the Turkish Airlines airbus is likely to resume its services from 2 pm Saturday.

According to a Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) official, flight schedules been put  in place and passengers have been called from 2 pm.

Earlier, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had said that the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), would resume operation from Saturday afternoon.

Manager Purna Prasad Chudal at TIA informed that the aircraft has been successfully moved to the runway.

“Now the aircraft will be towed to the parking lot following inspection by a team of expert,” said Manager Purna Prasad Chudal at TIA, “It could take one and a half hour to complete the task.”

Currently, there are no aircraft for international flights from the TIA.

“It is likely that aircraft will be given permission to land from around 12 pm this afternoon,” Chudal had said. The nearest international route from Kathmandu is New Delhi and it takes around 1 hour and 25 minutes for an aircraft to arrive from the Indian capital city.
