NRB Seeks BFI Proposals for Fixed Deposit Investment Worth Rs. 1.20 Arba

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to invest Rs. 1.20 Arba from its grant and pension fund in fixed deposits across banks and financial institutions. The central bank has invited interested institutions to submit applications by Bhadra 30.
Of the total amount, Rs. 1.04 Arba will be placed in Class ‘A’ commercial banks, Rs. 19.50 crore in Class ‘B’ development banks, and Rs. 6.50 crore in Class ‘C’ finance companies.
According to NRB, only institutions meeting certain requirements will qualify, including maintaining the prescribed minimum capital fund, keeping non-performing loans within 8 percent, and maintaining net NPL below 3 percent. Applicants are required to state the amount they wish to receive along with their proposed interest rates.
