No More In-Person Visits: Department of Industry Goes Digital
Department of Industry has fully transitioned most of its administrative and regulatory services online, following directives from Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Yadav. The move is designed to make service delivery faster, hassle free, and transparent, while ending the traditional requirement for service seekers to visit government offices in person.
According to an official notice issued by the department, key services now available through the digital platform include business registration, renewal, profile updates, relocation approvals, and capital or capacity expansions. Additionally, applications for foreign investment approvals, business visa recommendations, corporate name and objective amendments, and annual progress report submissions can now be processed entirely online.
The digitization push forms part of a broader government effort to modernize public administration, cut down on bureaucratic delays, and foster a more business friendly environment across the country.
