NEPSE to Remain Closed for Four Days Amid Election and International Women’s Day Holidays

The Government of Nepal has announced a series of public holidays in view of the upcoming House of Representatives elections and International Women’s Day.
A Cabinet meeting decided to declare public holidays on Falgun 20, 21, and 22 (March 4, 5, and 6) to facilitate voter participation in the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5. The decision was made following a recommendation from the Election Commission to ensure maximum public involvement in the democratic process.
In addition, the government has also declared Falgun 24 (March 8) as a public holiday to mark International Women’s Day.
In line with the government’s decision, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) will remain closed during these holidays. Regular trading at NEPSE will resume from Monday, Falgun 25, 2082, at 11:00 AM.
