NEPSE Loses 16.11 Points; Two Companies Hit 10% Negative Circuit

The NEPSE index lost 16.11 points today and closed at 2,526.92. The index opened at 2,552.33 and made an intraday high at 2,565.13. While the index went as low as 2,524.81, it ultimately closed at 2,526.92.

16,058,458 shares traded hands via 72,737 transactions. The trading of 206 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 8.41 Arba.

While the float index lost 0.97 points and closed at 172.76, the Sensitive index is at 463.47 after losing 1.66 points.

Deprosc Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (DDBL) has the highest individual scrip turnover of a little over Rs. 56.63 crores. DDBL had proposed a 20% dividend this morning for the fiscal year 2076/77. The shares of Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) traded the most.

Chandragiri Hills Limited (CGH) gained the most 5.03% today. Interestingly, it is after long that no company has hit the 10% positive circuit in intraday action.

Rather, Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMB) has hit the negative circuit by losing 10% today. Support Laghubitta had unveiled a notice stating that it won't distribute any dividend for the fiscal year 2076/77. DDBL has also lost 10%. Apparently, investors aren't enthusiastic about DDBL's 20% dividend announcement, given that it had given a 45% dividend in the year before.

Only three sectors gained today while nine others closed red. Development Banks gained the most 0.77%, which is still a meager gain. Meanwhile, Microfinance lost the most 2.88%.
