NEPSE Index Falls 2.61 Points to Settle at 2,757.40; Turnover Around Rs. 6.73 Arba

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a single-digit loss today, declining by 2.61 points (0.09%) to settle at 2,757.40. This comes after a strong gain of 83.33 points in the previous trading session.

The benchmark index opened at 2,762.73 and reached an intraday high of 2,794.94, while the day’s low stood at 2,743.36. Total turnover for the day amounted to Rs. 6.73 Arba, with 17,406,616 shares traded across 345 companies through 81,582 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 46.87 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 15.81 Kharba.

Ngadi Group Power Ltd. (NGPL) topped the turnover chart, recording transactions worth Rs. 24.22 crores. The company’s stock closed at Rs. 457.

In today’s trading session, five companies hit the positive circuit limit of 10%, including BJHL, SKHL, SGHC, RLEL, and SKHEL, indicating strong buying pressure in selected stocks.

On the downside, the mutual fund script NIBLGF declined the most, losing 7.08%. Notably, JHAPA, CKHL, ULHC, AVYAN, and ULBSL were among the top losing securities of the day.

Sector-wise, four indices closed in the green, while nine ended in the red. The Hotel and Tourism index was the top gainer, rising by 1.08%, while other gaining indices posted increases of less than 1%. The Trading Index recorded the highest loss, declining by 1.88%, while other losing sectors fell by less than 1%.
