NEPSE Chair Hemanta Basyal and CEO Chudamani Chapagain Resigned from Their Posts

The Chairperson of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), Hemanta Basyal, has resigned before completing his term. He submitted his resignation to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle during a recent meeting.

According to sources at the Ministry of Finance, Basyal stepped down citing special reasons, though details have not been publicly disclosed. He had been appointed as the chairperson of NEPSE on Bhadra 19 last year.

In a parallel development, NEPSE Chief Executive Officer Chudamani Chapagain has also tendered his resignation. Like Basyal, Chapagain submitted his resignation to Finance Minister Wagle in person.

Chapagain was appointed as CEO of NEPSE by a Cabinet decision on Chaitra 19, 2081. Sources at the Ministry confirmed that the resignations of both the chairperson and the CEO have already been approved.
