The Government of Nepal has expressed deep concern over the rising tensions between India and Pakistan following a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen.
In an official statement released on Thursday, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and conveyed solidarity with India during this difficult period. The ministry emphasized that the pain of this tragedy is shared by both nations and called for collective resolve against terrorism.
“Nepal unequivocally condemns this heinous act of terror,” the statement read. “As a nation committed to global peace and security, Nepal reiterates its firm stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We will not permit any element to misuse our territory against our neighboring countries.”
Underscoring its commitment to regional harmony, Nepal also urged both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue to de-escalate tensions. The government reaffirmed its dedication to promoting lasting peace and stability across South Asia.
