Nepal Oil Corporation Says Fuel Supply and Distribution Issues Resolved
Nepal Oil Corporation has stated that the temporary issues seen in the sale and distribution of petroleum products across various fuel stations have now been fully resolved.
According to the corporation, queues that had formed at some fuel pumps were caused by low stock levels at a few outlets, leading to short-term disruptions in supply. However, fuel distribution from the Thankot depot has now been normalized and supplies are being delivered according to demand across the Kathmandu Valley.
Spokesperson of Nepal Oil Corporation, Manoj Thakur, said the situation has returned to normal. “The problem seen in the sale and distribution of petroleum products has been resolved. There is no issue at present,” he said.
Following a sudden surge in consumer demand at fuel stations in major cities, including the Kathmandu Valley, the corporation had conducted onsite monitoring at several fuel pumps under the direction of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies to assess the situation and ensure uninterrupted supply.
According to the corporation, fuel stations in the Kathmandu Valley collected approximately 1.3 million liters of diesel and 1.3 million liters of petrol from the Thankot depot on Thursday alone. Currently, more than 130 fuel pumps are operating within the Valley, and officials have assured consumers that petroleum supply remains stable with no immediate shortages expected.
