Narayangadh-Mugling Road Section Blocked for 19 Hours Due to Landslides, Causing Inconvenience to Passengers

The Narayangadh-Mugling road section has been blocked for 19 hours due to landslides, making it difficult to pass through.
DSP Vijayraj Pandit, Police Spokesperson of the District Police Office Chitwan, was quoted as informing the road remains closed due to continuous landslides occurring 2 km from Mugling towards Narayangadh.
Currently, the landslide activity has slightly decreased, allowing some movement. However, authorities cannot determine when the landslide will be completely cleared.
The road has been blocked since 1.30 pm on Thursday. Pandit, who was present at the site, was quoted as explaining that due to the steep slope, both small and large landslides occur intermittently.
"Due to light rain, the landslides are occurring slowly. However, if heavy rain were to fall, the landslide would come all at once, making the cleanup process more challenging," said Pandit. "Dozers have been deployed from both sides to clear the road. We have initiated the process. However, it is difficult to predict when the landslide will be completely cleared."
The police spokesperson was also quoted as highlighting the difficulties in managing transportation and passengers when landslides block the road. He mentioned that Mugling is experiencing traffic congestion.
Efforts are being made to facilitate the movement of vehicles heading towards the Pokhara area. The police have advised vehicles traveling from Mugling-Narayangadh to use alternative routes.
Anak Construction, the company responsible for constructing a bridge over the Tuin River in the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, was quoted as stating that cutting the wall has been challenging due to constant landslides in the area. They attempted to cut a 60-meter-high rock towards Mugling but were unable to detonate it. A request has been sent to the Indian embassy for permission to use explosives.
