Mountain Energy Nepal Limited has reported strong financial growth in the third quarter of FY 2082/83, with electricity sales revenue increasing by 17.01 percent to Rs 1.79 billion. The growth was driven by regular power generation from the 42 MW Mistri Khola and 5 MW Tadi Khola hydropower projects.

The company’s net profit rose by 13.45 percent to Rs 527.6 million, while operating profit increased to Rs 686.3 million. Reduced interest expenses and higher electricity sales contributed to the improved performance. The company also earned Rs 29 million in interest income and received insurance claims during the review period.

Mountain Energy’s paid-up capital increased to Rs 3.12 billion after distributing 20 percent bonus shares last fiscal year. Despite the rise in capital, the company maintained earnings per share (EPS) of Rs 16.89, with net worth per share standing at Rs 142.24.

The company also announced that Dudhkhola Hydro Power Company has become its subsidiary, transforming Mountain Energy into a holding company. Dudhkhola Hydro Power is preparing to develop the 65 MW Dudhkhola Hydropower Project in Manang.
