More than 37% trading of Insurance companies; NEPSE surges 8.33 points

NEPSE Index continued its uptrend on the second trading day recording surge of 8.33 points or 0.89 percent to close at 946.33 level.

However the benchmark index moved up to the level of 952 within the initial trading hour but there after came down around the level of 946.

Mainly the trading were done of the shares of Insurance companies led the total turnover amount Rs 371.12 million. This index gained maximum of 146.82 points or 3.64 percent to close at 4180.07 level.

Altogether 49,859 shares of insurance companies were traded worth total of Rs 139.51 million which is more than 37 percent of the total turnover.

Only of NLIC (2990) and NLICL (1900) shares were traded more than Rs 50 million and Rs 34 million respectively.

Share Price of Insurance companies like PICL, EIC, NICL, PRIN, LGIL and PIC surged more than 8 percent.

However the share price of Sagarmatha Insurance plunged by 10 percent.

While NCCB, LUBL and PRVU topped among the number of shares traded.

Trading of commercial banks shares amounted Rs 143.89 million which is 38.77 percent of the total turnover where 292,425 unit shares of this sector were traded.

Manufacturing index however landed in red by plunging 5.12 points or 0.33 percent.

Development (771.64), Finance (520.83) and HydroPower (2134.45) gained 4.79, 1.59 and 27.73 points respectively.
