Marsyangdi Besi Hydropower Project Achieves 25% Physical Progress; Plans to Issue IPO in Future

The 50 MW Marsyangdi Besi Hydropower Project, promoted by Divyajyoti Hydropower Limited a subsidiary of API Power Company Limited, has achieved around 25% physical progress, with construction advancing across civil, hydro-mechanical, and electro-mechanical works.
The project, under construction in Besishahar Municipality and Marsyangdi Rural Municipality of Lamjung district, Gandaki Province, is advancing simultaneously across civil, hydro-mechanical, and electro-mechanical works. The intake and desander structures and powerhouse construction, while fabrication of hydro-mechanical equipment has started in Hetauda and electro-mechanical equipment is being manufactured in Europe and India.
The company has secured Rs. 7.50 billion in syndicated loans for the project, which has an estimated total cost of Rs. 11.30 billion. Power generated by the project will be connected to the national grid through the 132 kV Udipur Substation, with the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) already signed with the Nepal Electricity Authority.
The company also said it is preparing to issue an Initial Public Offering (IPO) to project-affected locals and the general public in the near future.
