Koshi Province Slashes Budget by 25 Percent for Current Fiscal Year

The Koshi Province government has decided to reduce its budget by 25 percent for the ongoing fiscal year. The decision was made during a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday.
According to Rewati Raman Bhandari, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of Koshi Province, the cabinet resolved not to implement the budget as previously approved. Instead, the reduced funds will be redirected toward the reconstruction of physical properties damaged during the Gen-Z protests of September 8 and 9, as well as for the restoration and development of infrastructure affected by recent rain-induced disasters.
In addition, the provincial government has transferred two of its secretaries to different ministries as part of its administrative adjustments.
