IRD reschedules tax submission deadline

KATHMANDU:

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has rescheduled the submission deadline for taxes considering the difficulties that taxpayers have been facing in this turbulent time.

As per IRD, taxpayers who had to submit the details of value added tax (VAT), excise and Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) at Chaitra-end (April 13) can now do so by first week of Jestha (till May 21).

Likewise, consumers can submit telephone bills by May 21. The entire penalty that would have been levied for the delay has been withdrawn till the rescheduled date. -
