Lumbini Lions have appointed renowned Indian coach Robin Singh as their mentor for the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), scheduled from Mangsir 1 to 27. With over two decades of coaching experience, Singh has previously coached teams like the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the Barbados Tridents in the CPL, and the UAE national cricket team, which he led to the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup.

A former Indian all-rounder with one Test and 136 ODIs, Singh has worked with India’s U-19, India A, and the senior national team as a fielding coach. His vast experience in international and franchise cricket is expected to strengthen Lumbini Lions’ performance in the NPL.

Team chairman Ishwar GC said Singh’s arrival is a major opportunity for Nepali cricket, adding that his experience and leadership will inspire young players. Singh expressed excitement about mentoring the team and contributing to Nepal’s fast-growing cricket scene.

Lumbini Lions’ marquee player is Nepal captain Rohit Kumar Paudel. At the same time, Australian all-rounder D’Arcy Short and Italian bowler Thomas Draca have also been signed for the upcoming season, with more foreign players to be announced soon.
