Finance Minister Paudel Highlights Economic Improvements in Meeting with World Bank Vice President Zutt

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel held a courtesy meeting with World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, Johannes Zutt, at the Ministry of Finance today. The meeting focused on discussions of various topics including the overall economy, urban and physical infrastructure, investment, tourism, and environment.

Minister Paudel highlighted improvements in economic indicators compared to last year and emphasized Nepal's policy, structure, and implementation reforms. He expressed alignment with the World Bank's newly prepared six-year Country Partnership Framework and showed interest in collaborating with World Bank on related projects and programs.

Mr. Paudel also informed about the Alternative Development Finance Mobilization Bill, currently under discussion in the National Assembly, aimed at promoting private sector-led development. He expressed World Bank's support for advanced result-oriented Objectives

Vice President Zutt has affirmed continued World Bank's support for high economic growth, particularly in urban infrastructure in Lumbini and Kathmandu Valley, pollution reduction, and private sector engagement. He praised Nepal's economic indicators and emphasized the need for increased investment, legal reforms, and focus on productivity enhancement.
