KATHMANDU:

The Department of Mines and Geology (DoMG) has developed a mobile application in a bid to provide updated information of earthquakes in Nepal as frequent tremors have been hitting the country after the devastating 7.6-

Richterscale earthquake of April 25.

Minister for Industry Mahesh Basnet launched the app in a programme organised by the department in the Capital, today.

Android phone users can download the app named Nepal Earthquake Updates from Google Play, according to the DoMG’s Deputy Director General Somnath Sapkota.

“The app provides all the information — magnitude, epicentre, losses — of earthquakes with a magnitude of above 4 on the Richterscale.”

Similarly, Minister Basnet also inaugurated toll free number ‘161804410141’, where people can easily get information on earthquakes.
