DoCSM conducts market monitoring

KATHMANDU:

Amid reports of black-marketing after the April 25 earthquake, the Department of Commerce and Supply Management (DoCSM) today conducted market monitoring in Gongabu area and took action against traders charging higher prices from customers.

A monitoring team deputed under the coordination of the department had found shopkeepers charging more than the usual price from customers.

Police will take action against those found involved in such ill-practices based on the recommendation of the department.

Around one-and-a-half dozen businesses, including Kantipur Gudpak Bhandar, Shiwakoti Gudpak Bhandar, Bhimeshwor Coffee Shop, Setidevi Cold Store, Sharmila Khaja Ghar, Surya Tea and Coffee Shop, and Niru Cold Store, among others, of the area were found to be cheating customers.
