Sunsari-4 lawmaker Dipak Kumar Sah has been recommended for appointment as Nepal’s new Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies. Prime Minister Balen Shah has forwarded Sah’s name to the President for approval.
Sah’s recommendation comes following the resignation of Gaurikumaari Yadav from the ministerial position. His name has already been sent to the President’s Office for the appointment process.
Sah had joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) ahead of the recent elections. Before joining the RSP, he was associated with the C.K. Raut-led Janamat Party.
Sah was expelled from the Janamat Party and subsequently formed his own political party before later joining the RSP.
Sah is currently at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar. While the Cabinet meeting is underway, he is reportedly staying in a room at the Prime Minister’s Office.
If appointed, Sah will take charge of the Industry Ministry following Yadav’s resignation.
