Did implementation of PAN affect bigger transactions? See the change in total transactions and transactions above Rs 5 lakh

The onset of PAN requirement for the secondary market transaction had created quite a hussle in the market. Some said it would have a negative impact and some said it would be positive for the market. The regulators, on the other hand, wore saying that they were doing their homework assessing all possible impacts.

Finally, the PAN system was made effective from Baisakh 02, 2076. According to the directive, the small investors won't require PAN Identification as it is required only for transactions above or equal to Rs 5 lakh.

So, from Baisakh 02 till yesterday the number of total transactions and the transactions above or equal to Rs 5 lakh are listed below:

As seen in the table above, the data indicates that there hasn't been any drastic fall (or rise) in the number of transactions. Therefore, it seems that the market is adapting to the new system and is doing more good than bad.
