Nepal Bankers’ Association Reports Increment on Weekly Lending Figures and Decrement in Deposits (With Visual Comparison and Charts Inside)
Nepal Bankers' Association has unveiled an elaborate report on the trend of deposit and lending in the nation's commercial banks.
The report shows that commercial banks received the highest amount of deposits ever in the month of Ashar, 2078. Deposits worth Rs. 4,201 billion were reported in Ashar of this year, which is the highest ever. Meanwhile, the figure reported on Shrawan 24, a month later, is slightly lower, i.e. Rs. 4,140 billion.
In contrast, banks have reported the highest amount of lending in the month of Shrawan itself. The lending amount reported on the 24th of this month stands at Rs. 3,731 billion, which is the highest monthly figure ever.
The average CCD as of 22 Shrawan was 77.46%. If one compares the figure reported last week with the figure of the final week of FY 2077/78, it seems that there has been a positive increment in lending figures and a slight decrement in deposits, one month into the new FY 2078/79.
