DDC withdraws milk pouches from market as it found undrinkable
KATHMANDU, May 31:
All the pouches of milk distributed by Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) on Sunday has been found undrinkable.
The DDC has withdrwan all the milk pouches from the market as the milk found to have separated milk from whey.
According to Ganga Timalsina, Director General of DDC, the problem could have occurred as there was loadshedding at the chilling center of the DDC last night.
He added that an investigation is underway to know the exact cause of damage of the distributed milk.
Timalsina further added that the DDC will withdraw the milk from the market if problem persisted on Monday as well.

DDC, the largest dairy company in Nepal, owned by government, has distributed the pouches of milk produced by private companies to its customers instead of DDC today.
According to sources at the Ministry of Agriculture Development, the problem occurred in the DDC as it distributed the milk which was on stock for a week.
DCC has been selling 95 thousand liters of milk per day within Kathmandu valley only.
According to MoAD, The DDC was selling 1lakh 50 thousand liters of milk per day prior to devastating earthquake that struck the country including Kathmandu valley on April 25.
