Coronavirus infection found in PM’s advisors, army persons guarding his residence

Coronavirus infection has been found in Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s main advisor Bishnu Rimal, foreign affairs advisor Rajan Bhattarai, press advisor Surya Thapa and principal personal secretary Indra Bhandari.

They had provided throat swabs for testing on Friday and their test results made available today showed them coronavirus positive.

Similarly, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 28 security personnel of the Nepali Army deputed for providing security at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar.

Nepali Army spokesperson Santosh Ballav Poudel said that although the 28 army persons are assigned to the PM’s residence, they are not directly in contact with him. The Army spokesperson also said that the infected army persons were being replaced by other security persons.
