Domestic airlines in Nepal have agreed to sell tickets at rates lower than the approved fares following Prime Minister Balendra Shah’s direction and the efforts of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Khadkaraj Paudel (Ganesh).

The move comes after complaints that airlines had increased ticket prices ahead of the upcoming festive season. Following the Prime Minister’s concern, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) held discussions with representatives of domestic airlines on Wednesday.

According to CAAN Director General Mukesh Dangol, the airlines have agreed to offer tickets below the approved fares and publish information about the reduced fares on their respective sales platforms.
