Constitution amendment brings positive impact: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has expressed belief that the constitution’s amendment would have a good impact on political and economical sector of the country.
At a programme organized by Nepal Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the 64th Customs Day, on Sunday, Minister Poudel said the obstruction on supply at the border would ease in few days.
The Minister said that there was no other option but to address the losses and effects of the Gorkha Earthquake and Tarai-Madhes agitation. He pledged on behalf of the government to collaborate with the private sector and introduce a private sector friendly policy.
Insisting on a just mobilization of revenues, Minister Poudel stressed on the need for a common effort for making customs offices time bound.
Revenue Secretary Rajan Khanal said the government would reduce customs rate as per its international commitment and pledged to facilitate trade.
Customs Department’s Director General Shishir Kumar Dhungana spoke of the launch of online service in Mechi Customs Office and added it would soften customs office works. He said such service would be spread to other customs offices.
NCC Chairman Rajesh Kaji Shrestha called for time bound facelift of the customs offices and making it private sector friendly. RSS
