Applications Open for Investment Board Nepal CEO Through Open Competition

The process to select the leader of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), the primary agency responsible for attracting large scale investments into the country, has officially restarted. The government has called for applications through an open competition, giving qualified Nepali citizens the opportunity to apply for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The secretariat of the CEO recommendation committee, under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, announced this vacancy through a public notice. According to the committee, the appointment process is being carried out in line with the Public Private Partnership and Investment Act, 2019.

According to the notice, candidates must hold at least a master's degree in economics, management, commerce, law, engineering, or development studies. Additionally, they are required to have a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in fields such as project development, investment promotion, public-private partnerships, banking, financial services, development administration, or industrial management.

The age limit for applicants is set between 35 and 65 years. Individuals holding permanent foreign residency status (PR) must provide proof that they renounced it at least three months prior to submitting their application. Along with documents verifying their academic qualifications, experience, and citizenship, candidates must also submit a business plan that outlines Nepal's investment environment, its potential, and strategies for investment promotion. The committee has stated that applications can be registered within office hours up to 15 days from the date the notice was published.
