Commercial Banks as per their paid up capital (in tabular format)

In terms of paid up capital up to the 3rd quarter (2071/72) of the commercial banks in Nepal, four banks has a paid up capital of more than 5 arba. ADBL stands at the top with 9.86 arba whereas Rastriya Banijya Bank with the paid up capital of 8.58 arba stands after ADBL, After Rastriya Banijya Bank there is Nepal Bank with 6.46 arba paid up capital and then there is Global IME bank with a paid up capital of Rs 5.01 arba.
As per the NRB policy, commercial banks must have a paid-up capital of at least Rs 2 arba whereas, NCC Bank only has a paid up capital of Rs 1. 47 arba which is less than the minimum amount required by NRB’s paid up policy. NCC Bank is presently under the control of NRB. The bank has promised its shareholders with 38% of bonus share but it has not been able to hold its AGM. After the issuance of bonus share, NCC Bank will meet the requirement of paid up capital set by NRB.
Grand Bank has a paid up capital of exactly 2 arba. Prabhu Bank has already got the letter of intent from NRB for the acquisition of Grand Bank. The paid up capital of Prabhu Bank stands at Rs 3.20 arba. After the acquisition the paid up capital of Prabhu Bank will probably reach to Rs 4.54 arba.
After the acquisition of Grand Bank there will all together be 29 commercial banks out of which 28 banks are listed in NEPSE whereas Rastriya Banijya Bank is yet to announce its IPO.
