Chhurpi Export up by 27 Percent; Transaction Reaches Rs 1.79 Billion in a year

Chhurpi amounting to over Rs 1.79 billion 2.8 million has been exported from the Mechi Customs Office in the last year alone. With the rise in the demand for Nepali Chhurpi products in the international market, the export in the last fiscal year has increased by around 27 percent compared to the previous fiscal year.

According to the Mechi Customs Office, Chhurpi worth Rs 1.41 billion 7.1 million was exported in fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Information Officer at the Office, Mangal Rai shared Chhurpi exports have been continuously rising in the last consecutive years. Chhurpi is used as feed for dogs and cats. It is mainly produced in Ilam, Panchthar and Taplejung.
