Westerly Winds and Monsoon System to Bring Rain, Snow in Several Parts of Nepal

The nation is currently experiencing the combined influence of westerly atmospheric circulation and the monsoon wind system.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, skies are expected to remain generally overcast in the Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, while partly cloudy conditions are forecast in other Himalayan and hilly areas across the country. The weather in the Terai region is expected to remain mostly clear.

Moderate rain or snowfall is likely at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in the Himalayan areas of Lumbini Province.

Light rain or snowfall is also expected at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and in the hilly areas of Lumbini Province.
