Voting Begins at 7 AM

Voting for the House of Representatives elections begins at 7 am today, according to the Election Commission of Nepal.

The polls will run until 5 pm. Requirements for casting a vote include any identification document that specifies the voter’s Nepali nationality like a citizenship certificate, national ID card, driving licence, passport or landownership certificate.

Separate lines have been designated for women and men while elderly and ailing people, people with difficulties, and pregnant women are allowed to cast their votes without queuing in lines.

There are a total of 10,967 polling centers and 23,112 polling stations across the country.
