Vivo Introduces OriginOS 7 with AI, Multitasking and Cross-Device Features

Vivo has introduced OriginOS 7, its latest operating system, with new features focused on performance, multitasking, artificial intelligence and device connectivity.

The system includes the Origin Smooth Engine, which vivo says can reduce app cold-start time by 10% and improve page switching by 11%. Its Memory Fusion feature can provide up to 25GB of additional memory on a 256GB device, while Dual Rendering improves rendering efficiency by 14.4%.

OriginOS 7 also introduces Origin Workbench, allowing users to manage up to five active applications in one workspace. The system supports connectivity with devices including Apple Watch, AirPods, iPad, Mac and Windows PCs.

The new Jovi AI agent can assist with tasks across connected devices, including retrieving files, summarizing information and organizing scheduled tasks. Other features include Snap Note, which converts photos of handwritten notes and presentation slides into editable documents.

vivo said it has conducted a 72-month anti-aging test to assess the system's performance over six years of daily use.

The OriginOS 7 Preview Program began on September 21 for the vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand and Malaysia. The rollout will later expand to the X500 series, X Fold and V series, with availability varying by market.
