Upper Mai Hydropower Project Temporarily Halts Generation Due to Expansion Joint Leakage

Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Limited has announced the temporary suspension of electricity generation from its Upper Mai Hydropower Project (9.98 MW), effective from 3:00 PM on Jestha 15, 2083, due to excessive water leakage detected at an Expansion Joint in the project's tunnel infrastructure

To carry out the necessary repairs, the tunnel has been required to be fully dewatered. The company has mobilized its technical team to address the issue at the earliest and restore normal power generation at the soonest possible time.

The company regrets any inconvenience caused and assures all stakeholders that restoration work is being prioritized.
