UML and RPP, RSP Demand Parliamentary Committee To Probe Alleged Unofficial Indulgence in Budget Preparation

Major Opposition UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party(RPP) and Rastriya Swantra Party (RSP) have demanded to form a parliamentary committee to probe the alleged involvement of unofficial personnel in the formulation of the Economic Bill, 2080.
The opposition parties warned if their demand is not met proceedings of the parliament shall not proceed further. In line with the same, a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) scheduled today at 11:00 am was shifted to commence from 1:00 pm in the afternoon.
On the initiative of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, in the premise of parlaiment itself proposal to form a parliamentary committee to probe into the matter was put forward by opposition parties including CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
A discussion between incumbent Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat also held discussions with UML Head KP Sharma Oli and Chairman of Rastriya Swantra Party Rabi Lamichhane.
Earlier, through a press release Ministry of Finance has already clarified that all due processes with regard to the formulation and drafting of the Economic Bill for the financial year 2080-81 were legitimate.
