UKAID Sakshyam Access to Finance conducts awareness raising events for earthquake affected locals in 3 different local units; provides hands-on knowledge about acquiring concessional loan

UKAID Sakshyam Access to Finance has conducted a number of awareness events on concessional loan program for the earthquake affected locals in Nepal. The awareness raising events were conducted from Asad 16 to 18, 2076 at Gorkha Nagarpalika, Sahid Lakhan Gaupalika and Palungtar Nagarpalika.

The event in was also attended by foreign aid division head of National Reconstruction Authority Mr. Divya Raj Pokhrel, Banking Coordination Specialist from NRA Ms. Namita Paudel, among others. The event at Gorkha Nagarpalika was attended by chief of Aid Management and Local Infrastructure, Gorkha Mr. Ramsaran Acharya and Deputy Mayor of the Nagarpalika Ms. Bina Kumari Shrestha, Chair of Nepal Federation of Journalists Gorkha Mr. Kishor Jung Thapa, event at Sahid Lakhan Gaupalika was attended by chair of the gaupalika Mr. Ramesh Babu Thapa, Deputy chair Ms. Indira Tiwari, Chief Operation Officer Mr. Jivan Bahadur Ale Magar and representative from Aid Management and Local Infrastructure division Mr. Sailendra Bhatta, while the Palungtar event was attended by head of Aid Management and Local Infrastructure division Gorkha Mr. Ramsaran Acharya, mayor of Palungtar Nagarpalika Mr. Dipak Babu Kadel, Deputy Mayor Ms. Pampha Base, among others.

In all three events, the locals affected by the mega earthquake 2015 received orientation about the provision of subsidized loan for reconstruction from UKAID Sakshyam program where the facilitators informed the participants about the practical approaches of acquiring such loans, as per the media statement.
