Twelve Injured in Triple Vehicle Collision on East West Highway

In a serious triple vehicle collision early this morning on the East West Highway, at least 12 people sustained injuries in Gaindakot Municipality-9, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East). The accident, which occurred near the Hanuman Temple, involved a passenger bus traveling from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu and a truck and pick-up van heading in the opposite direction. The impact was significant enough to cause injuries to the drivers of all three vehicles involved, alongside nine passengers who were traveling on the bus.

Following the crash, local authorities and bystanders worked quickly to rescue the trapped victims. All 12 injured individuals were transported to medical facilities in Chitwan for urgent treatment. According to Superintendent of Police Yubraj Khadka, the drivers have been identified as Indra Tamang, Darshan Kapri, and Mohansingh Balami Magar. While the exact cause of the pile up is still being determined, police have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances of the head on collision to ensure highway safety protocols were followed.
