NEPSE index meager 2.33 points or 0.2 percent to close at 1159.93 level.
The benchmark index initially gained more than 10 points to reach above 1168 level within the 20 minutes of trading and there after came down to intraday low of 1146 level till the initial trading hour.
However the local bourse managed to recover from that level to finally end with the surge of 2.33 points amid the increase in share price of Commercial banks and Insurance companies’ shares.
Total turnover of the day stood at Rs 76.12 crore.
Maximum shares were traded of commercial banks like EBL, GBIME, CZBIL, PRVU and NBB.
Share Price of Insurance company’s shares like NICL, PICL, LGIL and SIC surged more than 7 percent today.
Banking, Development and Finance sub-indices gained 7.15 points, 6.68 points and 1.22 points respectively.
Hotels and Insurance landed in green today whereas HydroPower, Manufacturing and Others loosed points.
Shares of 132 companies were traded today thru 4267 transactions.
