DEHONG, CHINA, Aug 28:

Experts have suggested the governments of Nepal, China and India to prioritize the construction of an economic-corridor between these three countries to support development across the Himalayan region.

Since the economic-corridor is being developed in the areas east and west of the Himalayan region, it was suggested that a corridor in the middle range passing via Nepal must be focused on.

In the first Trans-Himalaya Development forum jointly organised by China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) and Dehong region of Yunnan Provincial Government - discussions were held on China-India-Myanmar economic corridor; China-Pakistan economic corridor; and the proposed China-India-nepal corridor.

The four day forum concluded on Wednesday after making agreements to promote cross-border economic cooperation between ten countries falling on the Himalayan region.

During Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent China-visit, a primary agreement had been made in Beijing to construct India-Nepal-China economic-corridor.
