The Sudurpaschim Province Assembly has given unanimous approval to the annual budget of Rs. 33.47 billion for the fiscal year 2025/26, marking a key step in the provincial government's financial planning for the year ahead.
Presenting the budget proposal in Monday's Assembly session, Minister for Economic Affairs Bahadur Singh Thapa also introduced related financial bills for deliberation, including those concerning appropriations from the provincial consolidated fund and operational expenditures.
Minister Thapa, while addressing the Assembly, emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring transparency in budget allocation. He stated that dispelling the perception of middlemen or brokers influencing the budget process was a major policy focus. Acknowledging the budget’s limitations due to resource constraints, he assured lawmakers that the feedback received during discussions would be instrumental in making the budget more refined, inclusive, and outcome-oriented.
