Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Joins NPS-NCS and NEPALPAY Card Network
Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to become a principal member of the NPS-National Card Switch (NCS) and the NEPALPAY card system. This partnership enables the bank to issue and acquire NEPALPAY cards for its clients once the commercial rollout begins.
NPS-NCS serves as a central domestic payment infrastructure, promoting interoperability, reducing reliance on international card schemes, supporting data localization, and fostering digital innovation. NCHL, which already supports over 54 BFIs and 100+ technical members, is finalizing the rollout of NPS-NCS and NEPALPAY, with 30 BFIs already onboarded. Standard Chartered Bank Nepal continues to provide digital banking and financial services through 14 branches, 4 extension counters, and 25 ATMs.
