SPSA Securities Ltd. (Broker No. 87) has introduced a margin lending facility that allows investors to trade shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) using borrowed funds.

The facility covers shares of A, B and G category listed companies.

Competitive Pricing:

  • Interest Rate: From 7.5% per annum.
  • Service Charge: Only 0.20% of the Approved Margin Limit.

Investors must maintain an initial margin of at least 30% of the trade value. If the margin falls below 20%, the broker will issue a margin call, while positions may be liquidated if the margin drops below 15%, according to the facility's terms.

To use the service, investors must :

  1. Open a Margin Trading Account: Fill out our simple application to establish your leverage account.
  2. Deposit Your Initial Margin: Fund your new account with the required minimum 30% capital in cash or approved securities.
  3. Start Trading with Leverage: Once approved and funded, you are ready to begin placing leveraged orders on NEPSE.

SPSA Securities said the facility is designed to give investors greater purchasing power and access to additional trading opportunities. However, margin trading involves significant risks, including the possibility of losses exceeding the initial investment.
