SEBON warns brokers & merchant bankers regarding dissemination of information

Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has issued a warning to brokers and merchant bankers not to provide information, interviews and news regarding market trend. Issuing a press statement, SEBON said that such kind of information is making the market react as per selected individuals only which is benefiting selected influential market players. Online news portals, Facebook pages and newspapers have been publishing interviews and analyses related to the market behavior, but SEBON has now barred brokers, merchant bankers and other securities businesspersons to not involve in such kind of practices. Such release of information will be deemed to be against Securities Act, 2063 and if found guilty, SEBON will take appropriate legal actions against them.
