SEBON touches upon the credit rating business in Nepal via an interaction event; process of rating 5 Nagar Palikas for first time in Nepal right on its track

SEBON has conducted interaction event with credit rating agencies to discuss about the current status and upcoming prospect of credit rating agencies in the nation. The interaction event was attended by rating specialist from ICRA Nepal Mr. Kishor Prasad Bimali and Executive head of Care Rating Nepal Mr. Sajan Goyal who highlighted several issues of credit rating in Nepal including the recent practice of rating loans of different institutions. The meeting also highlighted about the ongoing process of rating 5 municipalities which is the first of its kind in Nepal.

The meeting was attended by ED of the board Mr. Paristanath Paudel, ED of the board Mr. Niraj Giri among many other staff members of the board.

As per the data provided, the two rating agencies has already rated 10 loans and 12 different public issues within the first four months of the new fiscal year.
