RSP General Convention: Swarnim Wagle Tops Central Committee Election with Highest Votes

The ongoing first general convention of Rastriya Swatantra Party has made public the vote count of 32 elected central committee (CC) members, with Swarnim Wagle securing the highest number of votes under the open category.

According to the party’s central election commission, Dr Wagle received 2,656 votes, emerging as the top candidate. He was closely followed by Sobita Gautam with 2,641 votes and Shisir Khanal with 2,538 votes.

Other prominent winners in the open category include Sagar Dhakal with 2,367 votes, Tosima Karki with 2,302 votes, Ranju Darshana with 2,293 votes, Manish Jha with 2,281 votes, and Hari Dhakal with 2,262 votes.

Among other elected members, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha secured 2,123 votes, while Indira Rana Magar received 2,090 votes and Ganesh Parajuli obtained 2,087 votes. Several other candidates also secured positions in the party’s new central committee through the election process.

The election commission stated that representation has been ensured across multiple social groups, with 10 members elected under the Khas/Arya category, nine under Adibasi/Janajati, five under Madhesi, four under Dalit, two each under Tharu and Muslim categories, along with five representatives from each of Nepal’s seven provinces.

The convention marks a key milestone for the Rastriya Swatantra Party as it formalizes its central leadership structure through its first general convention.
